There will be a stack of info on this in my 'History of Electronica' so in summary...
Like most dance crazes they start 'underground' but it wasn't long before Breakdancing hit the mainstream - several films came out to further enhance it's appeal
Whilst still being associated with the Breakdance genre, I think there was an obvious distinction between the more obvious 'dance' tracks and the almost 'soul-funk' ones like Chaka Khan's - Ain't Nobody
Like all my Top 10's, this list is carefully selected from my personal favourites and although there are some mainstream tracks in there, most may be more well known to the hardcore 'Electro Breakdance' community
Top 3, 'Looking For The Perfect Beat', 'Breakin...' and the immense 'Reckless'
