| I entered the BBC Radio 1 - Steve Reich REMIX competition to
remix this classic track for Steve's 70th birthday
celebrations. Unfortunately when I found out there was only a few days to go before the competition ended so my remix was no where near as good as I would have liked it to be! I needed to give it a try though because of it's close if not 'direct' connection to my favourite track of all time, Tangerine Dream's "Love on a real train" which I have also remixed (see here). Steve Reich
Since discovering Steve Reich's work I have grown to love it. Some of it is hard work and can be 'challenging' to say the least but if you persevere long enough and 'get into the zone' you will often be rewarded with something very hypnotic and quite unique
I don't like abstract for abstract sake and I think although Steve's work is quite bizarre when you first hear it, it is something really special
